Leadership Education And Development (LEAD) Advance

Program Description

LEAD Advance is an interactive learning experience for professionals who have a mastery over the fundamentals of leadership and want to take their leadership development to the next level. In this multi-part certificate program, participants will learn how to lead their teams to better performance, engagement and accountability through a series of professional learning courses and activities. Enjoy opportunities to network with other leaders across the university, and customize your LEAD Advance experience by selecting from a wide range of courses to help reach your specific career goals. With a focus on the areas of emotional and cultural intelligence, overcoming change and fostering collaboration, LEAD Advance can help take you and your team to new heights.

This certificate program is targeted at Managers, Supervisors and Leadership roles, but ALL NC State Employees are eligible for participation. 

Registration

Registration for LEAD Advance will resume in August 2024.

Program Cost

LEAD Advance can be completed with free courses but some course selections may require a fee. Please refer to specific course details for pricing information.

Program Requirements

Core Courses
Complete ALL of the following courses
Avoid Groupthink with Collaborative Decision Making
Facilitating Performance Accountability
Inclusive Teamwork (formerly Fostering Team Psychological Safety)
Team Essentials: Creating the Framework for a High Performing Team
Complete one of the following self-awareness courses.
Communicating Across Styles (formerly Adapt Your Communication Style to Improve Collaboration)
Elevating Your Professional Potential
Enneagram: Explore the Nine
Leading with Emotional Intelligence (course fee required)
What's Your Temperament?
eLearning Courses - LinkedIn Learning
Complete SIX (6) HOURS of self-directed eLearning courses from the LinkedIn Learning online catalog. Courses must be selected from the "Leadership" category of the course catalog.
LEAD Electives
Complete any THREE (3) LEAD Electives from the list of eligible courses found on the LEAD Course Catalog.
LEAD Learning Events
Complete any TWO (2) LEAD Learning Events that are found on the LEAD Professional Learning page.
