Avoiding Groupthink with Collaborative Decision Making reviews the benefits of working in a team and the challenges that can inhibit team progress. Participants will discuss Groupthink by looking at the symptoms that can impact the team dynamics leading to a negative outcome. Participants will share examples of how Groupthink has impacted them. Best practices will be reviewed in how to overcome phenomenon with a focus on two tools in brainstorming solutions (Cause & Effect Analysis) and making decisions via a team decision-making model Nominal Group Technique.
