Team Development

Development of a team is an ongoing process.  We partner with managers and teams to identify and minimize performance gaps in order to achieve expected business and organizational results. This includes developing specific services that assist with the management of talent throughout the lifecycle at NC State University post-recruitment.

Audience and costs (where appropriate) associated with each depend on the nature and scope of the project.  A Statement of Work (SOW) is offered after initial consultation for each request that includes recommendations and pricing for work/services delivered.

Retreat Design, Planning and Facilitation

A retreat is a meeting that is typically designed and organized specifically to facilitate the ability of a group to step back from their day-to-day demands and focus on strategic, team building, and related matters.  We partner with managers and teams in focusing their efforts to optimize expected objectives and results through designing, facilitating and evaluating expected outcomes for the retreat. Retreat deliverables include design and facilitation, summary documents and follow-up meetings.

Team Building

To be an effective team, its members must share a common goal, have mutual respect, and be motivated to use the strengths of each member to achieve their objectives.  Successful teams develop effective group skills, using tools that promote effective interpersonal communication. Experiential activities may include teamwork, communication, conflict management–just to name a few.  Team building sessions can range from one hour to a full day; part of staff meetings or scheduled as an all-day retreat.

Custom Course Course Delivery

In addition to the general enrollment courses, Learning & Organizational Development can also provide courses for specific groups, such as to an intact team.  Delivery may include the delivery of a single course to a series of courses to a customized program, depending on the need of the department/division/school. For special requests, courses can be delivered in the Administrative Services II building or at the department’s location (provided suitable space is available).
