The role of HR professionals at NC State is integral to the success of the university. This is not an all-inclusive list of the professional development opportunities available, but is intended to help kick off your training journey. Human resources professionals aren’t required to earn HR certifications, but in many cases, getting certified is a valuable investment in your long-term career. Obtaining HR certification is a personal decision, below are some resources to help determine if/which HR certification is right for you.
HR Certification Institute (HRCI)–Offers seven accredited certifications to accommodate multiple stages of HR careers. (ex: PHR, SPHR)
Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)–Offers a couple of options for certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
